New Year, New Training Updated for 2024


Are you in compliance? Many states mandate annual or biennial training.  It's not just training that is of concern, but posters, policies, and procedures need to  be reviewed to ensure that you have current information.  


Here's a summary of requirements -- are you in compliance?  

  1. IL and NY mandate annual harassment prevention training with very specific content. CA and several other states require training every other year, or at other intervals.  New Hires should be trained as they are hired to ensure they know the standards and how to report harassment.

  2. Employers must distribute the state poster and training in accessible formats for disabilities or language.EEOC posters are also mandated in every work location (office, floor, for remote workers).

  3. Your policy must include specific verbiage about discrimination and harassment and provide contact information to employees for reporting a complaint

  4. You must have solid complaint handling procedures.

  5. Chicago employers have even higher standards, including managerial training and Active Bystander Intervention training. 

  6. Many states have other requirements, so you will need to be aware of those mandates.
